Finally Arrived

Just arrived Sunday with all the animals in tow. installed a 200 by 200 fence for all the animals. going to separate them into various pens next week. the Wendover feed store is out of business going to have to find a new one pretty soon.

new farming truck

bought a 93 diesel ford f350 crew cab with a flat bed on the back. it has a gooseneck trailer attachment, towing package and dual rear wheels. was a steal of a deal.. came with 2 fuel tanks full of diesel too. has custom made bed rails that the Amish made. going to extend them up to contain my goats and mini horse on trip to nevada. I found a gooseneck trailer for $75 if I haul it out this guys land tomorrow. it's a 32 foot camper. will use it for animal shelter once I get to Montello.

if your installing t-post fence posts buy yourself a t-post driver.. I did 55 with a sledge hammer. bought a t-post driver and only 4 hits the post goes in through rocks, roots, hard ground.

scored again

scored a plow for the front of my riding tractor mower for $35. sure it's rusty, but that can be fixed. no rust through holes. I used wd40 to loosen springs up so I could change the angle of the plow blade. now to figure out the mounting. it's a craftsman and so is the tractor.. neighbor coming over to bolt it up or weld it on...

how to save baby chickens

first find them before complete death. if they are performing the new yoga craze planking, but still moving an eye, beak, try to give a little Gatorade. then rush them to egg incubator. have it on 99.5. wait 20 minutes, watch them come back to life 1 by 1. give them more Gatorade. put them in small basket with rest of chicks. watch them get stronger and hop out of the basket back with rest of flock. saved 4 like that yesterday morning...

saved a quail

I just saved a quail I found stuck in their cage upside down behind the water bottle.. wrapped it in wash cloth stuck it by the heater. back to normal. mcmurray hatchery is sending 6 extra chickens on my next order. totally awesome company
