interesting toilet solution

I was thinking one night about composting toilets and their high costs. I said why not do what cats do.. use litter box and kitty litter. ok don't use a litter box but you can use a bucket and a seat or you could use a medical potty chair. it's worked great with just trash bags but you have to take the bag out after each use. so if you cover it with kitty litter it should kill the stench and allow it not to have to be emptied every use. will post my results next week.

scored big time

I scored (3) 300 gallon water containers today. I tried a gas stove that the gas company wouldn't install. my friend bought me a newer one so it's all good. so when I reach Nevada in spring I'll have (3) 300 gallon tanks plus (7) 60 gallon tanks

driving icy roads

seems I can handle driving down a mountain covered in frozen rain. the back started to slide a little but I recovered good. truck the other day when it snowed and had blowing snow had snow inside the cab part. something is wrong since there is no holes in my roof and my windows were up. one day when it was cold my door was frozen shut and I couldn't get key in the key hole either. learned 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water works as a deicer.. also a credit card
makes a good ice scraper as well if it's not to thick or frozen.

update

enduring a cold winter here. nothing like Montello but it's helping me prepare for Montello. seeing what works and what doesn't. glad I didn't move to Montello straight from Florida. tent structures would not make it whatsoever. my shed has held up to 50mph gusts and sustained winds. haven't figured out how to keep my water containers from freezing yet. or producing heat without electricity or wood or propane gas.

goats

I got 2 goats as an experiment to see what happens when it gets cold and to see if I can handle it. so far it looks good. I'm learning how to handle the cold. I also got some chickens and rabbits. they all seem to be handling the cold good enough. it's not nearly as cold as in Nevada but the temps seem to be relatively close to each other some days.

can't wait to reach my final destination
