Montello or Bust

This blog will be all about my adventure of moving to Pilot Valley, just south of Montello, Nevada. I am going to post all of my Research I have done in a short time, so that others that want to move to the area, will have the ground work to make a good choice and know up front that there are and will be challenges. Rain barrel cleaning

I went away on vacation and came back to just 1 rain barrel full of algae. I drained it thinking I could just wipe the green stuff off. It was stuck on. I added a little bleach still no dice. I added more bleach filled the barrel with water. 3 days later water was clear, and all the stuck on green mess was gone..

2014 year of the ranch

plan on getting my acres all fenced in this year and start building my permanent cabin in montello. I've started taking pilot lessons and may install a runway on the property. it'll make moving and getting supplies easier to my land.

lost chickens

if anyone in the desert spots 50 chickens, please let me know. they escaped today and I can't find them on my 20 acres anywhere..

I'm so enjoying life here in the high desert. I've learned alot and I have alot to learn. I've learned roulette in west Wendover. if you bid on black or red, you have a 50/50 shot to double your money. it's a game of chance but it's also a game of odds. if it lands on black 3 times the chances are high it's gonna land on red next. well back to the ranch I head. $100 richer then when I left.
